9/23 - Entry 1
A moment that you might remember from today. Today, I walked the streets of Yeonnam in search of some food. I've been eating for a long time at a sandwich shop started by a few surfers from Jeju. The place, Duckdive is named for the dive surfers make into crashing waters as they attempt to search for the perfect wave to ride. The guys have been really kind to me even though I don't speak perfect Korean. However, today, it was closed. I ended up walking back through busy crowds of impatient Koreans. It seems like they are a bit tired of wearing masks day to day. People are littered throughout the streets smoking, relishing in the idea that someone can finally see their faces. People say that the pandemic has made the most attractive people feel cheated--they can no longer use their beautiful physiognomies to garner respect or favor in their day to day interactions, they're treated just like anybody else.
